Who are YSAS?
The Youth Support + Advocacy Service (YSAS) is a leading youth health agency that supports young Victorians affected by, or at risk of being affected by, alcohol and drug use, mental health issues and social disconnection to access the resources and support they require to lead healthy and fulfilling lives
Honorarium/Volunteer Payment
Involvement in The CREW is voluntary. Members who participate in the various opportunities offered will receive a volunteer payment in the form of cash or deposit into your account. This is to acknowledge your expertise, ideas, and contribution, as well as to cover out of pocket expenses. Monetary amount is determined by the ‘Recognition, Reward, Re-imbursement of Young People who Volunteer for YSAS Youth Participation Activities Guidelines’ which will be provided to you upon commencement as a CREW member.
When and where does The CREW meet?
The CREW meets fortnightly at Head Office and via Zoom if COVID restrictions do not allow for us to meet in person or you aren’t able to attend in person.
The meetings are currently Wednesday afternoons fortnightly between 4:30pm – 6:30pm. The CREW has the right to change the meeting time to a different regular timeslot if it is agreed by the group.

How do I get involved?
To join The CREW:
Complete this application
We will be in touch with you to arrange an informal interview at Head Office and show you around. Or we will arrange for this to be via Zoom if COVID restrictions do not allow for us to meet in person.
We will call your nominated referee
You will be asked to co-sign a Support Plan and if accepted a Member Agreement which sets out expectations for your involvement.
If you’re aged 18 or over you will also be required to hold a Working with Children Check - Volunteer, we’ll support you to get this
You will be asked to fill out a ‘Statement by a Supplier’ form from the Australian Tax Office which enables us to legally provide your volunteer payments
We will then add you to our CREW private Facebook page
We are a child safe organisation and all members of the CREW aged 18+ will require a Working with Children Check - Volunteer. Volunteers can get them for free from http://www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au/home/
CREW members aged under 18 will be required to have parental consent.
