Michael Patrick Bourke
YSAS Board Chair
His Honour Judge
His Honour Judge Michael Bourke Chairs the YSAS Board of Directors, taking up the appointment in August, 2020. Michael was appointed as a County Court Judge in 2002 and Chair of Youth Parole Board in 2006. He has contributed to research and advocacy for the rights of young people who encounter the criminal justice system and strongly advocates for agencies that provide support services.
Cathy Buckmaster
Cathy is an experienced Finance professional with over 20 years’ experience specialising in financial reporting, stakeholder management project delivery and governance. Cathy has a background in professional and financial services and has strong technical knowledge of accounting, finance, risk and compliance matters. As the Senior Manager of Investor Relations (IR) at Perpetual Limited Cathy is responsible for leading the IR function and managing the communication of the Group’s strategy and ASX market disclosures.
Cathy holds a Bachelor of Business in Accounting, is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Australia and New Zealand institute of Chartered Accountants. Cathy has been an independent member of the Board’s Risk and Audit Committee since 2012 and was appointed to the Board in August 2019.

Professor Frederico teaches Social Work and Social Policy at La Trobe University, is a Graduate Research Coordinator in Social Work and Social Policy, and is a Principal Research Consultant at Berry Street’s Take Two Program, a partnership with La Trobe University, Mindful, and the Victorian Aboriginal Child care Agency. An experienced social work practitioner, Professor Frederico teaches and researches in social work, with a focus on child and family wellbeing, child protection and trauma, and community empowerment leadership and governance in Human Services and evaluation.

Margarita Frederico
Sean has worked in marketing and advertising for nearly two decades across Australia and the UK. Prior to founding Threefold, he was the Melbourne Managing Director of the global communications agency, SapientNitro. In his current role at Threefold, Sean works with leading organisations across the private sector and government to drive more effective marketing and customer experiences. Sean holds a Bachelor of Business (Economics/Marketing) from Swinburne University

Sean Hanneberry
Jorden is the General Counsel & GM Commercial Affairs at HESTA Super Fund and has served on the boards of various health service providers as a non-executive director. Prior to joining HESTA, Jorden practised as a corporate lawyer with several leading firms, advising corporations across a range of complex matters. She is experienced in the development of corporate governance frameworks and risk management, and is passionate about achieving high standards of governance in organisations. As an executive leader, she further brings deep expertise in organisational strategy and provides guidance on target operating models for businesses in highly regulated industries. Jorden has received numerous industry accolades in recognition for her contributions to financial services and law to date.

Jorden Lam
Adam is an experienced Addiction Medicine Specialist based at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. He consults to both hospital inpatients, residential withdrawal units as well as specialist outpatient clinics and has a particular interest in the interplay between chronic medical conditions and substance use disorders. He has multiple publications in scientific journals including on the use of substances by young people with type 1 diabetes. Adam peer reviews for scientific journals, teaching students and junior doctors and contributing to national guidelines regarding substance use treatment. Adam has spent considerable time in the Northern Territory and is a former Director of NT Drug and Alcohol services.

Adam Pastor
Jane Miller is Chief Operating Officer (COO) at The Royal Children’s Hospital, with overall responsibility for clinical operations, and the Hospital Incident Commander during emergency codes. Jane has worked in clinical and hospital management roles for more than 30 years at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, Monash Health and The Royal Children’s Hospital. Jane has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology), a Graduate Diploma in Neurosciences, and a Master of Health Management, and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Jane Miller
Sarah is an employment law partner at EY Law and previously Norton Rose Fulbright. Sarah practices in the areas of employment law, industrial relations and OHS. She has significant experience working with Boards and senior management teams in the areas of employee risks, governance and leadership. Sarah has a particular interest in mental health as a workplace issue and has a strong knowledge of government. Sarah was previously on the board of Monash Health and was a senior ministerial adviser in the Victorian Government.
Sarah has been a member of the YSAS Risk and Audit Committee since September 2014.

Sarah Ralph
Maria Flynn is the Executive Director, Nursing and Allied Health (EDON) and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at The Royal Children’s Hospital. Maria is a Registered Nurse (UK/Australia) and Registered Midwife (UK) with over 30 years’ experience of health and social care. Maria has a Bachelor of Arts (BA, Hons) in Healthcare Studies and a Master of Science (MSc) in Healthcare Management. She has held leadership roles across nursing, midwifery and allied health and has operationally led a multitude of provider departments within acute, ambulance, primary care and mental health services. Maria has also worked at a strategic, commissioning and performance management level within the Department of Health and commissioning authorities; and with the Care Quality Commission (independent regulator) as an accreditation assessor.
The Chief Nursing Officer holds responsibility for facilitating research, innovation, education, quality and safety improvement. Maria also has accountability for advocating for professional and evidenced-based practice and clinical standards, and has a special interest in workforce planning to enhance recruitment, retention, training, development and succession planning. As part of the European Hospital and Healthcare Federation (HOPE) Exchange Maria worked in Sweden and Austria to study European methods for sharing and learning from clinical incident management and has a particular interest in risk management and governance. Maria is an Honorary Senior Clinical Fellow, University of Melbourne and has studied at a clinical doctorate level focusing on Quality Improvement (QI) science methodologies and is one of only 4000 Q Fellows in the UK.
Maria Flynn
David Murray is the Director of Client Services Practice and Development at the Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA). Formerly the YSAS Executive Director and Policy Director of Jesuit Social Services, David has served the interests of marginalised young people for over 40 years. He has a particular interest in developing services that respond to the needs of young people who present with complex issues of drug use, mental illness, and homelessness, self-harm and offending behaviour. David’s most recent senior appointments have been as Director of the Service Development Unit in the Department of Justice and Regulation and he was the Executive Director of the Youth Partnerships Secretariat (Department of Education and Early Childhood Development); a whole of government initiative designed to address the issue of improving service responses to young people at risk or who have disengaged from education.
David served as President of the Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare and Chaired the Board of the ‘Australian Communities Foundation’. He also Chaired the ‘Minister’s Advisory Committee on Vulnerable Children Young People and Families’ and was a member of the ‘Minister’s Advisory Committee on Mental Health’, the ‘Victorian Children’s Council’, the Victorian Drug and Alcohol Prevention Council, the Youth Parole Board and the Minister’s Juvenile Justice Roundtable.
David Murray
Martin commenced his career in health following his graduation in 1998 as an Occupational Therapist. Following his work as a clinician across a number of health services, he joined Eastern Health in his first management role in 2005. Across the next 12 years he held numerous acute and sub-acute Program Director roles, culminating in his appointment as the Chief of Clinical and Site Operations at Box Hill hospital.
In his current role as Executive Director, Integrated Care Services at St Vincent’s, Martin has a broad range of responsibilities including oversight for Addiction Medicine, Mental Health, Correctional Health, Allied Health, Rehabilitation, Geriatric Medicine, Community Services and five Residential Aged Care facilities across inner Melbourne. Martin holds an MBA and is currently on the Committee of Management for the Eastern Palliative Care Association.
